Nancy Wilson is a Grammy Award winning jazz singer. Her birth date was February 20, 1937, in the city of Chillicothe, Ohio to Olden Wilson who worked in an ironworks, and Lillian Ryan, a former domestic employee. Nancy is the youngest out of 6 siblings. Nancy was a child who listened to records from her father as well as his passion for music. When she was just 4, Nancy already knew her destiny was to be a performer. She was able to develop her talents through singing in the choir of her church. After high school the singer began appearing regularly in Skyline Melodies. She was 15 when won the TV talent show. That same year, Nancy began working in nightclubs. Nancy was a high school graduate at the age of 17 and then attended the Ohio's Central State College, now Central State University for a whole year. After that, she left to pursue a job as a professional musician. Her first recording was with Rusty's Carolyn Club Big Band in 1956 with whom she performed from 1956 until 1958. Nancy began her recording career with Dot Records in 1956, when she was part of the band. Cannonball Aderley suggested she make the move in New York so as to improve her career. In 1959 Nancy made the move in The Big Town. Within a short time, she was singing in The Blue Morocco Night Club which is located at Boston Road near The Bronx. The representative of Adderley heard her sing and immediately agreed to sign her. He signed a contract the label Capitol records in 1960, and she made her debut that year by releasing the single. She initially focused on blues and rhythm under the influence of Adderley, she shifted away from R&B as she embraced jazz and torch songs. Nancy Wilson and Cannonball Adderley's collaboration in 1962 helped to propel her into the spotlight and her hit Tell Me the Truth was released in 1963. This brought her a gig at New York's Coconut Grove the premier night club in America the following year and she was a household name.

She holds Archaeology and Anthropology degree. Maisie's career began in the acting world with the 2012 short Our First World. She was in 2013 as Ellie in the film Americano and Rum.
