Nancy Wilson is a Grammy Award winning jazz singer. Nancy Wilson was born on the 20th of February, 1937 in Chillicothe Ohio, to Olden Wilson who worked at the ironworks as well as Lillian Ryan, a former domestic employee. Nancy was the oldest of six kids. Nancy was heavily influenced in her early years by the music her dad played and loved at his home. As young as four, Nancy knew she would be a singer. The talent she had developed was discovered through singing in the choir of her church. When she was still in high school the singer was regularly featured in Skyline Melodies. The same year, Nancy started to work at night clubs. Nancy dropped out of Central State University in Ohio after being matriculating for a full year. In 1956, she recorded her debut album in Rusty Bryant's Carolyn Club Big Band with whom she toured from 1956 until 1958. In the band, Nancy made her first recording on Dot Records. Cannonball addederley recommended that she relocate into New York for her career and, in 1959, she moved into The Big Town. Within one month, she got a job singing at The Blue Morocco Night Club situated on Boston Road in The Bronx which was where her agent was introduced to her, and she was signed. He signed a contract the label Capitol records in 1960, and she debuted that year by releasing the single. Guess Who I Saw Today. Capitol has released five Nancy Wilson albums within two years. Initially focusing on rhythm and blues, under the influence of Adderley, she shifted away from R&B and embraced jazz and torch songs. Nancy Wilson's 1962 collaboration in 1962 with Cannonball Adderley propelled her to the top and, in 1963, she had her first hit Tell Me the Truth. The following year it led to her being booked at the New York's Coconut Grove - the top nightclub in America.

The actress was featured in a cameo role of Korr Sella in the film Short Wars: The Force Awakens, in the year 2015.
