Aaliyah Dana Haaughton rose to prominence after the release of her first album Age Ain't Nothing but A Number in the year 1994. When she was just 15 the album was awarded Gold recognition. It was done as part of a group that was greatly inspired by R. Kelly and it brought her into the spotlight. In the year 1996, Jermaine Durpri as well as Timbaland joined forces to record the second album of hers, One In A Million. The album included If Your Boyfriend Only Knew as the number one. However, she uses both Aarti Mann as well as Aarti Majumdar as her professional name. Her acting career began in early 2000 with small roles on TV and films. The actress has also been featured in Leverage, Suits, Grey's Anatomy as well as Grey's Anatomy. In addition, she has appeared in commercials of major companies like the international auto manufacturer Volvo. Her daughter who lives in Los Angeles and is pursuing her acting.
